“Porcelain Body”, created in summer 2026, is a group of 36 images depicting porcelainized body sections. The porcelainization process happened in digital post-production, by swapping the skin in my previously taken reference photos with a porcelain surface. This task quickly exceeded the capabilities of automatisms, therefore required me to meticulously edit, layer by layer, until the desired effect was achieved. An important element throughout the series is the distinct craquelure, which reads as a warning sign of fragility. In order to further accentuate the materiality, I would print the pictures via dye sublimation on white-coated aluminium. This method heat-fuses the image into the surface, leading to a lustrous, porcelain-like character. Finally, the images can either be exhibited in a free arrangement or, thats my suggestion, if the space allows, all together in a large square formation.
