Reversed Frame Concept (2021)

The concept originates from the idea of turning a frame inside out, in order to frame everything outside of it. This example sketch is largely based on the 18th century French frame of the second slideshow image. An ornamented design like that is not obligatory, but it helps to accentuate its reversed position. The implementation of a reversed frame of this kind would ideally be carried out by a skillful frame maker. It should be considered to opt for a quite strong, convincingly performed artificial aging process. An aged appearance might esthetically highlight the frame's truthfulness.
