Produced in spring this year, "Himmelswracks" is my most recent group of works. The twenty, in their original proportions, below presented paintings are depicting shipwrecks sunken in sky. Usually, I prefer not to share personal interpretations or impressions of my artworks, but in this case, it seems alright to mention that the wrecks can also be seen as metaphors for abandoned dreams.

The paintings are created by combining a wide range of different media. Every image started as a thought, transferred into a swift digital sketch, which then, in the form of a rudimentary giclée print, got attached to an individually, somewhere between A5 and A4 sized piece of 1cm thick cardboard. This formed the composition determining foundation for the painting process. What followed is the application of numerous paint layers, mainly consisting out of acrylic and aquarelle paint. At this point, I applied, or also often partly removed again, layers until the paintings reached the right colouration, texture, structure, amount of details, haptic, and degree of diffuseness. Finally, every painting received a robust, transparent, satin matt coating and a custom mounting system, ensuring they are ready to be hung on a wall, in either in a free arrangement or in my suggested composition.
